Vote Cope: Dan Wright was working with the business office to have the money for Vote Cope taken through automatic payroll deduction. It has been decided by the Orange-Ulster BOCES Cabinet that contributions to Vote Cope CANNOT be made through payroll deduction. Money can be raised continually throughout the year. (Your statewide union has a fundraising arm called VOTE-COPE. VOTE-COPE is NYSUT's non-partisan political action fund that coordinates the voluntary contributions of members and supports NYSUT-endorsed candidates and campaign committees that are pro-public education and pro-labor. The single largest category of VOTE-COPE expenditures is in the form of rebates to local unions to be used in local activities such as school board races and for passage of school budgets.)
APPR: For the current school, 2012-2013, year only 2 walk thrus are required. For the current 2012-2013 school year if a Tenured Teacher receives an Ineffective it will not count towards the 2 Ineffectives that would lead to a 3020a Hearing. This is a 1 year only deal. After one “Ineffective” rating or “Developing” rating, the district must develop a Teacher Improvement Plan (TIP) with necessary supports, training and specific goals for improvement. Teacher Improvement Plans (TIP) will need to be in place by September 10, 2013.
